Getting use to a new board can be frustrating, so I'll spare you the trouble.

This link explains the full potential of the board on how to post pics, create dazzling text, etc. Scroll to the bottom and you can find dozens of codes that can be added to your thread/post.

I have discovered on rare occasion that sometimes after login the board disappears. No matter how many times you hit "HOME" in the upper left navigation bar it doesn't return. However logging out and back in again fixes the problem.

I've received mails inquiring about registration problems.

If you did things right, then you should receive a welcome email from the OT Crappie.com forum. The exact following language: "Before you can login, you first need to activate your account. To do so, please follow this link" Should have been in the welcome mail. By clicking on the link provided you should be activated.

If you have not received an activation email with link, then check your spam blocker and filters. Some email accounts do it automatically.

Update: 9/11/09

It seems our registration process has changed at some point. It now requires human confirmation making it more difficult for Bots to infiltrate the board with spam, and apparently has moments of dysfunction. I'll be looking into the matter.

I can see this in your help link above but I can't find it when I am putting together a reply here. Its probably right under my nose somewhere but I'm not able to find it and put text in bold.

Also I think I read somewhere that one can't preview the pictures they are posting so I sure hope the picture I'm intending to post ain't porn or something else.  Shocked  Sure would be nice to actually see exactly what we are posting here.

Well here goes I'm hitting the post button and you all have been warned.  Grin

when getting funky with text you need to use "tags", tagging the beginning and end of each bit of text. For example bold print would contain this [bold] at the beginning. Then it would contain [/bold] at the end. [bold]now we know how to print bold[/bold], and don't forget the backslash on the 2nd tag. No spaces are ever used on tags. I'm not sure about previews, never gave it a second thought.

Double check the link I provided, scroll to the bottom for the tags.

A word on Karma ratings:
Karma: +1/-1
[applaud] [smite]

You may notice under your Nick a "Karma" rating of + or - a number or zeros. This is a response to a voting process on your threads/posts. For example, if you see a post you like, you may click on "applaud" written in blue. If you were applaud someone for their post, you would give them a Karma of +1. You may wish to smite someone's thread or post, this would give them a -1. Please be considerate with this feature.

I almost applauded J.C.Allin on one of his postings the other day just to upset him, since he is proud of his perfect record, which as of today is 0 [applaud] and 7[smite] but I'm not one for causing problems and consider myself a considerate person. Grin

And that's exactly what I'm talking about. I don't want to see smiting wars and misuse. We don't that feature in the other board and it might be a good thing. I see plenty I disagree with but I don't think I've smited anyone yet.
